Banker in trouble after stealing Customers' N2million

Chidebere Ikenna, a previous staff of New generation bank, who professedly stole away with N2million having a place with the bank's clients, was on Tuesday charged at the Igbosere ‎Magistrates' Court, Lagos.

As per The Nation, Ikenna, 41, of No. 74‎, Akintomide Street, Ijegun, Satellite Town, Lagos, is standing trial on a one tally charge of taking.

Arraigning cop, Insp. Abbass Abayomi, said Ikenna conferred the asserted offense at some point in November 2016, at the bank's Lagos Island branch.

"Inconvenience began when clients of the bank came to whine that cash kept in their records was not reflected in the announcement of records.

"The bank explored the clients' cases and found that the litigant had a case to reply. Be that as it may, he stole away before he could be captured," Abayomi said.

As per him, the offense negated Section 280 and culpable under Section ‎287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Ikenna argued not blameworthy to the charge.

Officer Abimbola Komolafe conceded him safeguard in the whole of N1million, with two sureties in like total.

"The sureties must be beneficially utilized, demonstrate proof of three years assess installment and sworn statement of means, among others," the judge included.

The case was deferred till November 14.
